Faith Manners has over 20 years experience in strategic and fund development working in education, healthcare, state-wide program reform, and non-profits. She holds a master’s degree in Organizational Leadership with a particular emphasis in Corporate Ethics from Chapman University, and she also holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Chapman University. She has previously held positions in the training field developing curriculum with both Nordstrom and Disney. Faith’s professional experience includes working with both for-profit and non-profit organizations to develop branding and communication strategies that will effectively tell “their story” and increase public visibility and develop greater mission awareness. Faith has extensive experience as a certified program administrator and facilitator of government funding sources and collaborative partnerships.
Member of the Board. Maarten Voogd is President of Water Ventures, a design and construction firm, which has specialized in water parks and leisure development for over 29 years with projects in over 30 countries. He and his wife, Vinita, a well-known artist who teaches at Saddleback College, are the parents of Lauren (age 28) diagnosed at birth with a rare form of a cancerous brain tumor. Their family is very involved and has voluntarily worked with special needs children, young adults and families for over 20+ years, coaching baseball, soccer and organizing a bowling league in South Orange County. The Voogd family’s charitable foundation has made a substantial pledge to the Glennwood House of Laguna Beach. Maarten will ensure the project is built using the highest of standards and he aspires to make this project “the model” for future special needs housing projects around the country.
Member of the Board. Tom Straw is passionate about people, especially those with developmental & physical disabilities. He is a long time South Orange County resident and Sales Manager with MMM Corp. He loves to stand up paddle with friends, ride bicycles on local trails, and is a big fan of the Ducks, Lakers and Chargers. He grew up in Newport Beach and graduated from UCSB.
Founder. Mr. Larson started his own financial planning and insurance services company, Larson Financial Advisors, Inc., over 27 years ago. He offers a breadth of knowledge and experience in finance, management, accounting, human resources and marketing. A long time resident of Laguna Niguel, Larson founded and ran the special needs AYSO VIP soccer programs for 25 years. In addition he coached Challenger Little League baseball and Hot Hoops Basketball. In the fall of 2007 he was honored by OC Regional Center as a Finalist for their Lifetime Achievement Award. Randy and his wife, Ginny, a teacher and co-founder of Glennwood Foundation, are parents to Trevor, a 30 year old man, with a terrific sense of humor, Down syndrome and the inspiration for this project. He considers serving the special needs community his passion and lifelong commitment and pledges that Glennwood House of Laguna Beach will set the new standard for special needs supported living in California, and nationwide.
